What is Type 9 on the Enneagram test?

Type Nines are known as "The Peacemakers" of the Enneagram. They are the most accepting, trusting, and stable of all the types. Nines are motivated by a need to keep the peace, avoid conflict, and maintain a sense of internal and external balance. They are typically receptive, good-natured, and supportive, willing to go along with others to keep the peace.

Nines want to create a harmonious and pleasant environment. They often do this by being agreeable and minimizing their presence, which can sometimes lead to neglecting their own needs and potential. When healthy, Nines have an extraordinary capacity to bring people together and heal divisions.

Type 9 Work Preferences

Type Nines excel in non-competitive and cooperative work environments that prioritize group harmony and collective well-being. They enjoy roles that leverage their mediation skills and allow them to support others. Nines work best when they can maintain their inner peace and when they have clear, consistent goals and objectives.

Nines are motivated by inclusion and unity, often excelling in fields that require consensus-building and reconciliation. They may need encouragement to step into leadership roles, but once there, they lead with a comforting presence that is both reassuring and stabilizing.

A person's wing is determined by which of the two adjacent personality types they score the highest on.

Type Nine Wing Eight (9w8):

The 9w8 brings a more assertive and grounded presence to the accommodating nature of the Nine. These individuals may be more willing to take charge, particularly when the peace or well-being of their environment is at stake. They combine the desire for harmony with the willingness to protect it.

Type Nine Wing One (9w1):

The 9w1 adds a sense of order and idealism to the Nine's desire for peace. These individuals often have a strong sense of right and wrong and can be more focused and organized. They are driven to improve the world but do so gently and diplomatically.

In the spirit of "Together The Winning Team," Type Nines are the harmonizers, gently guiding the team with their inclusive and stabilizing presence. They remind us that in a world of action and ambition, there is immense strength in listening, understanding, and maintaining peace. Their ability to see all sides and create unity is not just their gift but a beacon that guides our collective efforts toward compassionate and balanced success.
